Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union

Vice President of Lending Billie Dees knows this is true. Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union cares about its members and is committed to offering a variety of products and services—doing so with a friendly, personal touch.

Billie has been in banking and lending for more than 20 years, the last 12 with Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union. She knows that the culture at the Credit Union really is to focus on its members. There is a collective pride among the employees who serve its members each and every day.

When you meet Billie, her passion for consumer lending and helping members is obvious. “We have products to fit almost every financial circumstance and it is so rewarding to be able to help someone buy their first home or get a second mortgage to pay for their child’s college. The culture here at the Credit Union gets in your blood. Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union is owned by its members.” Billie says.

When asked about what it was like being a professional woman coming up in her career, Billie Dees feels blessed to have had the opportunity to be in financial services at the start of her career. While it was a male dominated industry for many years, Billie moved up through the companies and strived to earn the respect of her coworkers and the communities she served. This was very important to her, as was her willingness to learn new technologies and skills along the way. Her advice to other women is to “follow your passion, determine your purpose and then persevere.”

Latrice Wright is a Mortgage and Home Equity Specialist at Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union. She has been in the financial industry since 2006 and has been with Georgia Heritage since November 2020. She has remained in the industry because she loves people and lending a helping hand to those in her community.

Latrice is proud to work for an organization like Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union. “From growth opportunities to work life balance, they are very supportive of their employees,” she says. In turn, Latrice wants to give that same level of care and understanding to their members.

Being a professional woman and a mom does have challenges. Latrice believes that women need to “stand in their success,” understand that we cannot strive to be perfectionists, learn to trust in our own voices, empower each other and not let our adversities define us—“your attitude determines your altitude.” She is very proud to be an example to her daughter as well—showing her that, with hard work and tenacity, women can be anything they desire.
