Total Health Fairs: Exposing Employees to Health Development and Proactive Wellness Behaviors

Throughout the past decade, an increasing number of America’s most successful and high performing companies have recognized that a happy and healthy employee is a productive employee.

In the Coastal Empire, many businesses schedule special health and wellness fairs to connect their employees with a variety of resources and experts on hand to help them achieve peace of mind and an overall sense of well-being. Total Health Fairs has proven to be a valuable resource for employers who don’t have the budget or time to schedule such an event.

From start to finish, Total Health Fairs orchestrates a variety of corporate health fairs, employee wellness days and even corporate wellness challenges. And the best part: there’s no cost to the company. By providing the service free to employers, they are able to expose more employees to health development and proactive wellness behaviors.

Olivia Taylor, Director of Total Health Fairs, says the best part of her job is helping employees become healthier by connecting them with the specialists in the community who can get them on the road to wellness. “Employees often don’t have the time to take off work and have their blood pressure checked, see a chiropractor or get a massage,” she says.

Olivia works directly with the Human Resources representatives or company officials to develop and orchestrate a wellness event specifically tailored to their employees’ needs. Businesses can choose to offer a health fair or opt for a wellness expo, risk and prevention day or even an employee pamper day. And all of these events can include screenings, demonstrations, games and raffle prizes.

Olivia takes care of every detail, from initial planning to selecting a venue and scheduling resource providers and executing the successful event. To put it simply, Olivia does all the “heavy lifting” and enables corporate leaders to continue focusing on the business operations.

Area employers who have recently offered events through Total Health Fairs include Derst Baking Company, the City of Pooler, Georgia Regional, Mitsubishi, City of Garden City, and the YMCA of Coastal Georgia in West Chatham.

Total Health Fairs’ roster of health and wellness professionals include Ranicki Chiropractic, The Mindspring Center, Coastal Audiology & Hearing Aid Center, and the Recovery Place, among many others.

Portia Brown, a financial services professional with Financial Design Associates, has served as a resource at Total Health Fairs’ events and says the experience was a great opportunity to reach individuals who might need advice. “Olivia does a great job of finding out the needs of the companies and employees so we can address them directly,” she said. “She’s very professional and well organized, communicating with everyone and setting up for the event. It’s been a great experience working with her and Total Health Fairs.”
