The Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau

The Pooler Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau is an organization of community focused leaders whose mission is to promote Pooler as a tourist destination and to promote a positive business environment by supporting economic development through networking, teamwork, and innovative thinking. The organization is dedicated to aggressively marketing Pooler’s assets, maximizing economic impact while providing excellent visitors services.
Pam Southard is The Pooler Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director. Pam and her husband settled in the Pooler area ten years ago after living in Maryland for many years. When looking for a new home that would offer both warmer temperatures and smiling faces, they knew right away that Pooler, GA was the perfect location.
It didn’t take Pam very long to get involved in her new community. She started working for the Chamber at a part-time position as an office assistant for the previous executive director. She quickly began taking on more and more responsibilities becoming a full-time employee with the Chamber, and eventually accepting the position of Executive Director.
Since taking the role of Executive Director, Pam has seen incredible growth in Pooler and attributes the growth to the support and encouragement from Pooler City Officials and the Pooler Chamber of Commerce. At one time, Pooler was often marketed as a town close to Historic Savannah, Shopping and Tybee Island. “Now with an endless supply of magnificent restaurants, shopping, and attractions, Pooler has become a destination city itself,” says Pam. “Pooler really does have it all!”
The Chamber is focused on supporting businesses, regardless of size.  “There are platforms that businesses can use to network their business such as business after hours, lunch and learns, and more,” explains Pam. “Businesses know we are here to support them, and to help them grow. We assist them with all their needs from finding locations, obtaining permits, and networking, to participating in ribbon cutting ceremonies and helping with promotion of their businesses,” continued Pam. Additional benefits to businesses and members of the Pooler Chamber of Commerce include cost savings for events, member to member discount programs, listing on the Chamber’s websites and social media sites, and access to their complete membership list.
Assisting Pam daily at the Pooler Chamber of Commerce is an incredible team that includes Sue Maxwell, Director of Community Relations; Donna Lippens, Coordinator/Member Partnerships; and Susan Eiseman, Office Manager, and Jessica Lockard, Office Assistant. Pam beams with pride as she speaks of her team and their dedication to the Pooler community. “We all work as a team here,” says Pam. “I could not do anything without the incredible women I work with here at the Chamber! They work tirelessly to support our businesses and I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing team!”
Supporting Pam and her staff are The Pooler Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. The board is comprised of a diverse group of highly skilled and experienced professionals working together to improve the business environment in the Pooler area. Board members serve as advisors to local businesses, are focused on member recruitment and retention, assist in the financing of Chamber operations, and attend events.
In addition to the Board of Directors, Pam also expressed her sincere gratitude towards the City Pooler  officials for the support the Chamber receives from Mayor Mike Lamb, City Manager, Robbie Byrd, city council and staff. “I cannot say enough about our officials and the support they offer the Chamber and our businesses,” explains Pam.
