Together We Can! A Great Day On The Course in Support of the Pooler Lions Club

The Pooler Lions Club held their 8th Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Tournament on May 13 at Crosswinds Golf Club. All proceeds from the tournament goes toward the Pooler Lions Club Charity Fund, support our work helping the blind and visually impaired.

Although vision is one of our major areas, we are also involved in the community with environmental, childhood cancer, diabetes and hunger service projects. Our membership is growing as well as the number of service projects we are involved with. We invite you to be a part of it.

Golf Chair, Linda Saytanides stated, “We were excited to have 128 golfers for our 8th Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Tournament. Our golf tournament is the Club’s major fundraiser and is our biggest friend raiser. We had more than 70 businesses supporting us with prizes, auction and goody bag items. Thanks to all our golfers who came out and supported us—not only by golfing, but bidding on our silent auction. This was the first time we held a silent auction and the reviews were great. We could not have done it without you!”

It was a great day to be at Crosswinds even though no one hit a Hole-in-One to win the F150 Ford Truck sponsored by JC Lewis Ford. The closest to the Hole-in-One was Andy Thompson of ‘Dude, where’s my Par? Team.’

Everyone enjoyed breakfast sandwiches by The Chocolate Martini Bar & Restaurant, Goody Bags by SoFIT Gym and beverages by Coca-Cola. Also thanks to Chick-fil-A Savannah Quarters for sponsoring our Fire-Rescue Team and the Pooler Chamber for sponsoring our Pooler Police Team.
